In 1898 the Sophien Heilstätte was opened and served as a tuberculosis curing center. Tuberculosis was at that time a plague for the poor and especially for workers in the upcommig industralization. In 1925 the place was one of the few with a performning X ray machine and thorax surgery was performed here. During all the years this place was dedicated to thorax healing. 1992 the has been was closed and since then the community is searching for an investor.
The decay is a bit like Beelitz. All rooms are completely empty and you have to enjoy just the architecture, the light and the decay.
